Ogun State civil servants suspend two-weeks old strike

Following, Gov. Amosun Ibikunle meeting with the labour leaders and the state civil servants have suspended their two weeks strike. Nation union of local government employee (NULGE), National association of Nigeria nurses and midwives (NANNM), Trade union congress (TUC), National presidents of NLC and JNC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, kiri Mohammed, Bobboi Kaigama and Alani Adeniji were all present at the meeting with the governor. The meeting, which lasted for about 10 hours with Gov. Ibikunke Amosun and other top officials of the state government.


Decisions reached at the meeting are:
* immediate offset of one year arrears of check off due with outstanding gratuities to be offset with #200million every other months effective from nov.2016
* immediate release of 2015 promotion result, committee on both side (govt and labour) should be set up to look into the issue of officers that have completed their loan payment but whose money are still being deducted.
* Agreement on both side that the ongoing strike should be suspended and no worker will be victimized on act of strike.

The issue of suspended civil servant; Ambali (NUT chairman) and Dare ilekoya and other 14, also 16 workers suspended was not address.

However, Gov. Amosun ibikunle address the civil servants of Ogun State as the "BEST IN THE COUNTRY"
