A 2015 graduate of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, who died recently in a fatal accident has been laid to rest. Until her death, Chikamso Jennifer Obayi was a staff of Diamond Bank. She was buried last weekend in her hometown, Enugu State in a funeral ceremony attended by friends, family, UNIZIK students and colleagues.

man accuses police for the death of his brother

A young man Kingsley Anayo Ojimadu has accused the Kwale divisional police of killing his younger brother Chinedu Joseph Ojimadu. In a facebook post, Kingsley said his brother died in a ghastly motor accident on October 6, as a result of the reckless driving of the Kwale police along Ibusa/Warri express road. He wrote;

'I'm in serious pain. My heart is heavy. I don't know a day like this will come. My lovely younger brother died in a ghastly motor accident yesterday caused by police reckless driving, Kwale division precisely, by Ibusa/Asaba express road. The painful part of it all is that some policemen who came to the scene only rescued their men living my brother to die in the burning vehicle. Chinedu Joseph Ojimadu, so your bros will not see you again? Uwa'

'My kid brother Joseph Chinedu Ojimadu was laid to rest two days ago, being on the 29th of October, 2016. He died in a ghastly motor accident caused by reckless driving of Kwale divissional police, along Ibusa/Warri express way on the 6th of October. 

From the 6th to 29th of October the police killed him, the head of Kwale divissional police, CSP Emmanuel Ogbuanya and company did not visit the deseased family.
The last time the President of Ndigbo in Kwale visited him to inquire their quietness towards the young man's life they took untimely, CSP Emmaouel Ogbuanya said that the matter wasn't in his jury, except at Ibusa where the accident occured, meanwhile he was the person who sent his men an errand to Area Command at Asaba before the sorry story. Can i ever be proud of Nigeria? There's no hope for Nigeria

A dubious ex-banker was sentenced to 195years in prison.

Aliyu Suleiman has been sentenced to 195 years in prison.

Kano State High Court presided by Honourable Justice Dije Abdu Aboki, has convicted and sentenced one Aliyu Suleiman to 195 years imprisonment.
The convict was arraigned by the EFCC on the September 30, 2014, for allegedly stealing over N21,000,000 (Twenty one Million Naira only) from Albasu Microfinance Bank. Upon his arraignment, the convict pleaded not guilty to all the count charge brought against him by the EFCC.
In her judgment on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, Justice Aboki sentenced the convict to serve two years on each of count one to forty four and fine of N300,000 on each. Where the convict defaults the fine, he is to serve additional six months imprisonment on each count.
From count 45 to 74, the convict was sentenced to fine of N500,000 or twelve months imprisonment on each count while on count 75 to 105, he is to pay fine of N200,000 or twelve months imprisonment on each count with the exception of count 97 which appeared to be duplication.
The sentences were to run concurrently. The convict was also ordered to restitute the sum of N14,815,000 (Fourteen Million, Eight Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Naira Only) to the Albasu Community or spend five more years in prison.
The convict was a former staff of Oceanic Bank who was engaged and entrusted by the Albasu Community to take charge of their Microfinance Bank.
While in charge, the convict violated that trust and siphoned over N21, 000,000 (Twenty Million Naira) by forging signatures of the other signatories to the funds.

It was disclosed today, thursday at abuja, By president buhari mohammed that he almost left the country when upon resumption he discovered that the treasury was empty.

The law graduates of Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye have continued to maintain their impeccable performances at the Nigerian Bar Final Examinations with two of its graduates bagging first class at the 2016 Bar Examinations.
The candidates are Oludare Subomi Onakoya and Oyeleke Samson Oyeniran both graduated from the University with second class upper division.
Information from the Law School revealed further that the graduates from this University recorded over 97% pass in the 2016 Bar Examinations, the highest pass rate for this year.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Saburi Adejimi Adesanya has sent congratulatory messages to the students and staff of the Faculty through their Dean, Prof. Sesan Oliyide for making the University proud while also promising that the ideals of excellence would be sustained in the entire University system.
It would be recalled that the Faculty of Law, Olabisi Onabanjo University has been outstanding in more ways than one. This is borne out by the outstanding performances of its graduates in the labour market and the Law School. At the 2011 Bar Final Examination, three of its students also came out with First Class Division.

700,000 apply for 500 FIRS job

The Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Mr. Tunde Fowler, has said that the organisation received more than 700,000 applications from the recent job advert it placed.
Fowler made this known on Wednesday in Abuja when he appeared before the House of Representatives Committee on Public Petition.
The FIRS boss’ appearance at the lower chamber followed a petition from some applicants, who claimed to have been excluded from the employment processes.
The Service had invited applications for various positions in series of adverts placed in some national dailies.
Fowler said that out of the 700,000 applicants more than 2,000 had first class degrees in various disciplines and were qualified to be engage by the Service.
He said that FIRS would recruit only 500 people, adding that the exercise was designed to increase manpower for tax revenue collection and expand the country’s revenue base.

He assured that the organisation would ensure fairness and due process in the recruitment process.
He said, “We have secured waiver and endorsement from the Federal Character Commission in order to ensure that the right thing is done.”
In his remarks, Chairman of the house committee, Mr. Nkem Abonta, directed Fowler to submit to the committee the service’s nominal roll to assist it in arriving at a decision. (NAN)

A commercial sex worker who changed her life after she met with the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, in Port Harcourt Rivers state, recently got married to her man at the Church premises.
According to the General Overseer of the church who officiated at the wedding, he promised he will not only provide accommodation for newly converted sex workers but also set up businesses for them as well as participate and bankroll their traditional and church wedding if any of them, in the cause of her services to God, find any man of her choice to marry.
Speaking after she exchanged vows with her husband, the over excited Bride said,
“In my life, Saturday 28th September 2016 can not be forgotten in hurry. It was the day I met with the General Overseer of OPM physical in our brothel at Diobu where my life was mess up with the habit of prostitution. I have been listening to many people who most time came around to preach to me but to Daddy OPM, his own pattern of evergelism was different from all other person who tried in vain to convert me. He did not only preached the gospel of the Bible to me but brought me and others out from the devil dungeon, relocate us to an estate, Fed us, clothed us and set up life time bussiness for us, today I am a fulfilled born again christian, having gotten water baptism and again married to a man I love to spend the rest of my life with. God is really great to have used His servant to change my story for good”
The groom on his part said
“I knew this my wife some years back but have lost contact with her, I am not a member of OPM but I appreciated the good work of Daddy OPM. He sponsored my wedding and provided an accommodation for us to live in after the ceremony, he made my day worth celebrating. I pray God to continue to bless him and the member of the Church”.

Ogun State civil servants suspend two-weeks old strike

Following, Gov. Amosun Ibikunle meeting with the labour leaders and the state civil servants have suspended their two weeks strike. Nation union of local government employee (NULGE), National association of Nigeria nurses and midwives (NANNM), Trade union congress (TUC), National presidents of NLC and JNC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, kiri Mohammed, Bobboi Kaigama and Alani Adeniji were all present at the meeting with the governor. The meeting, which lasted for about 10 hours with Gov. Ibikunke Amosun and other top officials of the state government.

Decisions reached at the meeting are:
* immediate offset of one year arrears of check off due with outstanding gratuities to be offset with #200million every other months effective from nov.2016
* immediate release of 2015 promotion result, committee on both side (govt and labour) should be set up to look into the issue of officers that have completed their loan payment but whose money are still being deducted.
* Agreement on both side that the ongoing strike should be suspended and no worker will be victimized on act of strike.

The issue of suspended civil servant; Ambali (NUT chairman) and Dare ilekoya and other 14, also 16 workers suspended was not address.

However, Gov. Amosun ibikunle address the civil servants of Ogun State as the "BEST IN THE COUNTRY"

Alcohol and energy drinks are like"cocaine" to kids

*Caffeinated cocktails trigger exactly same brain reaction as Class A drug, study reveals
Teenagers who mix energy drinks with alcohol react as if they were on cocaine, a new study reveals.

The potentially lethal combination of caffeine and liquor – such as vodka and Red Bull – triggers exactly the same reaction in a young person’s brain.
Just as with the Class A drug, the cocktail can have a devastating affect on the chemical balance of the brain that lasts long into adulthood.
Worryingly, the research team at Purdue University, United States (U.S.), also found if teenagers mixed energy drinks with alcohol, and then tried cocaine, they would crave greater quantities of the drug to replicate the same high.
“It seems the two substances together push them over a limit that causes changes in their behavior and changes the neurochemistry in their brains,” lead author Richard van Rijn, an assistant professor of medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology, said.
“We’re clearly seeing effects of the combined drinks that we would not see if drinking one or the other.”Van Rijn’s team looked at how a cocktail of highly caffeinated energy drinks and highly caffeinated alcohol affected the brains of adolescent mice – since human tests are illegal. Based on other drug studies in mice, he insists the study is an accurate reflection of how human teenagers would react.
The more the adolescent mice drank caffeinated alcohol, the more active they got – similar to how mice react on cocaine. More worryingly, the researchers also spotted increased levels of a dangerous protein that is amplified in the brains of cocaine and morphine addicts.
The protein (ΔFosB) tends to trigger long-term changes in the chemical balance of the user’s brain.“That’s one reason why it’s so difficult for drug users to quit because of these lasting changes in the brain,” van Rijn said.
 Caffeinated alcohol had given their brains so many intense highs that it had stunted their brain’s reward center.
Van Rijn used saccharine – an artificial sweetener – as a substitute for cocaine to test the theory. As predicted, the mice exposed to caffeinated alcohol in adolescence guzzled much more saccharine than the other mice.
“Mice that had been exposed to alcohol and caffeine were somewhat numb to the rewarding effects of cocaine as adults,” van Rijn said.

A Chinese woman has gone the extra mile to make her husband pay for cheating after she caught him talking to other women via a messaging app online.

In a video uploaded on Chinese video sharing site,  Huo Huo Ge to Miaopai, the man could be seen kneeling down on the spiky skin of a durian fruit which has a very strong smell, as he cried and confessed to  his wife while she scolded him for cheating. He wore a black brief, pink bra and had a sanitary pad stuck on his forehead. He is heard saying:

'I admit that I made a mistake. I should not have sent my private photos via Wechat. I should not have initiated the conversation,'

The infuriated wife question him saying; who did you approach?

I talked to several women'. I said something I should not have said the man replied 

"That is why you end up like this right? Who asked you to kneel down?" the wife continued to question him

"My wife asked me to" he replied

'I asked you to kneel down, and do you obey my commands?' the infuriated wife asked.

'I am willing to receive a harsh punishment,' the husband answered in a flat tone.

'Will you continue talking to them?' the wife asked.

 The man promised he would never do it again. He suddenly burst into tears saying, 'my dear wife, these are all durian skins. I just can't stand it anymore.'
